I loved your breakup article. Do you have any advice for someone who is trying to move on from a relationship? How did you do it?
Dear Hopeless Romantic,
First off, thank you so much for reading my articles! When it comes to moving on after a breakup, especially if it was a long relationship, it can be pretty tricky. I’d say that the best way to move on is to really focus on yourself! Don’t try to move onto another guy or rush into dating again, because that could sometimes actually make it worse. Find your really close friends who will help you through this, because they will help you more than you know. Focus on your relationship with them and your family, as well as yourself. Treat yourself to things you always wanted, or go places you’ve always wanted to go. I know after a breakup, it’s hard to keep your self-confidence up. But, make sure that before you move on, you really focus on yourself, and loving yourself first before you take the next step of dating again. People in your life who are always there for you will be a big help in this. So, keep your head up, and don’t rush too much into moving on, I know how hard it is. Focus on you for now!
Thanks for writing! I hope this helps!
I’ve been trying to exercise for weeks now, and I just don’t have enough motivation. Any tips to make me actually WANT to work out?
Dear Need Motivation,
I know, it is so hard sometimes to get up and actually start exercising! Especially if you had not done it previously, starting is not something that happens overnight! First off, as much as working out at home works, if you are able to I would join a gym! I know it is hard to get yourself to get there, but once you are there you are forced to do something at least! Get a group of friends to workout with; it will really help if you can motivate each other! Something that really helped me was to make a weekly workout plan. Plan out exactly what you will do at the gym each day, and stick to it. There are plenty of websites that will help you with that! Make sure you eat something small before, to give you energy. It is extremely hard to work out on an empty stomach! And lastly, listening to music is my biggest motivator at the gym, so I highly recommend bringing headphones! I know it is hard to get started, but once you start seeing results from going you will never want to stop! I hope this helps!
Thanks for writing!
