Everyone goes through the “I’m going to be healthier!” or “I’m joining a gym!” phases as we approach a new year. But, towards the end of January, those begin to be something of the past, as life begins to hit us again.
Here are some New Year’s resolutions for 2016 that, if they are kept, will make 2016 a great year for you!
Be Yourself
Don’t let others change you in 2016.
Be yourself. Don’t try to be something you’re not to impress a boy, or for a job promotion. People will love you when you are yourself. You just have to find the right people to surround yourself with!
In 2016, make sure you find yourself, your morals and set goals. Don’t change those for anyone; stick to what you believe in and want for you. Don’t give in to societal pressure to change.
Make Time for your Besties
2016 may be a crazy for you, whether it’s due to a new job, important school year, or a new beau. These are all great things, of course, but don’t forget to make time for those girls who have stuck with you through it all.
Schedule a weekly, or even monthly, date night with your girl friends. That way, there is no canceling or rescheduling. You have a set date.
Going to get your nails done? Instead of making that a chore, invite one of your girls to come along. You get to catch up, while also being productive. As the years progress, your friendship will have more and more strains on it, so don’t forget to show those girls how much you appreciate them!
Keep Your Heart Open
Next year, be sure to keep your heart available to give love a try.
You may have been hesitant before or scared to get hurt and date the wrong guy. But, that is all a part of the experience that everyone goes through.
Make sure in the New Year that you give love a try! You never know; those blind dates your friends force you to attend may end up in you meeting the love of your life.
Don’t miss any potential chances you have at love! Go on dates, meet others, and have a great time with it!
Already in a relationship? In 2016, be sure to also keep your heart open, but to your significant other. Make sure they know how much you appreciate their late night food runs, or the back rub they give you when you’re stressed.
Allow yourself to be grateful for all the little things, and try to do more of those things for them. Try to achieve an honest relationship this year, and you will be set.
Spend Time with your Family
As you get older, family becomes a little more distant, as you move out to college or get a job. Don’t let this happen in 2016.
Make sure that you allot time for your family, who has given you so much that led you to where you are.
Schedule Sunday dinners, or make time during the week if you are available. Don’t forget all that they had done for you, and all they will continue to do as you become successful. These are the people who will always have your back no matter what the circumstance, so make sure you make an effort to have theirs as well.
Make this Year a Successful One!
Don’t hesitate to try things that you are afraid to do; strive for the best in 2016!
Don’t be scared to go for that job promotion, or to talk to that guy you’ve been eyeing up for months. Go for it all! You never know what could come out of it! Don’t be afraid to do all of the things next year that you did not do in 2015.
Make this year the year of YOU! Meet new people, try new things. This is going to be a great year for you!
