We had the opportunity to connect with Robyn Savage founder of The GirlTribe . Robyn lost her mother at a young age and because of that she set out on a mission to live life as wildly and free as she possibly could, and thats what she did. She started The GirlTribe to focus on connection & communication! The GirlTribe community on Facebook is a safe place for women to discuss real & honest feminine topics, share recipes, work out tips, words of inspiration, and GirlTribe lifestyle tips. This summer GirlTribe also launched their new website that showcases all of their new products, lifestyle programs, and online courses!
What exactly is The GirlTribe?
What is your mission?
Our mission is to help women create lives they love, live unapologetically, and show up everyday as their truest, highest selves! Life is short. It’s in the little moments that big things exist, and it’s up to each of us to experience life fully and give back in anyway we can. We are here to help you create a life filled with moments you love.
What inspired you to start The GirlTribe?
I wanted women to experience the freedom of making decisions from the heart, to feel the magic of living with purpose, to create abundance that fuels goodness in the world. I wanted to free women of financial stress, to connect like minded babes, and to make waves around the world as a collective feminine source of energy. So far, the GirlTribe journey has been way more than I ever could have imagined! And we are just getting started.
How did you come up with the name?
Honestly, it all came to me in a dream. I woke up in the middle of the night, and I had this idea. I got out of bed, grabbed my journal, and cuddled up in the dark stairwell outside my bedroom while my husband slept. All I could hear was “GirlTribe” being repeated over and over in my head as the ideas just poured out of me onto paper. I haven’t changed the name, idea, or general business plan since that night!
What is your favorite part about running The GirlTribe?
Hands down it is the incredible growth I get to witness in the tribe! It’s getting messages from women about how transformational the content is, or how fortunate they feel to have found their belonging place. It’s being able to connect with women all over the World to engage in honest conversation, form healthy habits, and to watch women fall more in love with their authentic selves. As an entrepreneur, I also have a serious crush on our #girlboss component! Getting to mentor women to start their own businesses in the health & wellness industry and create financial freedom is pretty sweet! GirlTribe is pretty much a dream.
What is the hardest part about running The GirlTribe?
Staying on top of everything! There are lots of beautiful moving parts and we are constantly evolving, creating new content, signing on new business associates, planning big events! There is a lot to manage, but it’s worth it!
What is a girl boss to you?
A woman who follows through with an idea. A woman who tries, wholeheartedly. A woman who expands her heart, dives into the unknown, and trusts the Universe has her back as she embarks on new ventures. It’s not always going to work out. There are lots of failures in the #girlboss journey, but to me, it’s about handling those failures with absolute grace and learning how to grow from the experience. A girl boss knows she’s worth the investment.
This summer you’re launching your new platform, can you tell us about that?
Yes, so exciting! We just launched GirlTribe’s new website, which was a wild ride! The website is absolutely beautiful and showcases all of our new (and FAVE) products, lifestyle programs, and online courses. There’s more, but the list is so long I can’t list them all, you’ll have to go check them out! My personal favourites on the new product list are the Intention Boxes, Spirit Course, and the new opportunities we introduced to become a GirlTribe leader and create an income stream!
Are there any success stories you can share with us since you started The GirlTribe?
Everytime I get a message from someone who’s done one of our lifestyle programs and experienced the shift, or someone in GirlTribe Community who is inspired everyday by the content – I consider every person that is inspired by the tribe a “success story”. Here’s one of my favourite success stories:
“It has been an honour and privilege to be a part of such an uplifting group of woman led by the amazing, inspirational positive force that is Robyn! Her ability to constantly enrich us with the most motivating, heartening, encouraging and nurturing advice is such a gift. Somehow the messages always seem to come at just the right time.
And to all the ladies who post such personal and often raw journeys, thank you. While I am a quiet but active member of the group, there is so much love and inspiration that has touched me at some level. It is a joy to be part of such a wonderful community.
My physical wellbeing has gone from strength to strength with the fantastic Usana products. The only way to describe it is that I just feel ‘Well’. I have energy to face the challenges of motherhood and running a home and certainly notice the difference when I fall of the health wagon now and again. But with the tribe, it is never for long! The recipes are so easy and delicious and a constant reminder to stay healthy. Most importantly we are not being drummed into living an unachievable lifestyle, knowing it is ok to have that glass of wine or let our hair down on a weekend makes the program real. Thank you Robyn and all the amazing women out there!”
How do you spread the word about your company?
By using my voice and sharing the vision! We have a beautiful facebook group of over 2600+ women called, GirlTribe Community, that is very active and engaged. We also have lovely Instagram friends, and beyond that, we LOVE to be active leaders in our physical communities around the world to connect with women face-to-face.
What is one piece of advice you would give to a woman who wants to start her own company?
Connect with your heart centre and make every decision intuitively. Get precise and clear on your vision. Take baby steps. Know that you are supported. Step into the natural flow of your life. Stop pushing! Don’t reinvent the wheel. And obviously, #jointhegirltribe. This is the time for women to rise up!
