Quinoa is currently trending as the most popular superfood on the market to date. It comes from a grain crop that is grown and harvested for its edible seeds.
Much to everyone’s surprise, quinoa however is NOT a grain, I repeat it is NOT a grain!
Quinoa is actually considered a pseudocereal.
A pseudo-what?
Essentially, it is a type of seed- similar to a grain -that can be prepared and eaten in a variety of forms. And although it has just recently emerged as the new trending buzz, quinoa has actually been around and consumed for centuries all over South America. In fact, the Inca Empire once referred to quinoa as “the mother of all grains.”
(And you know if an empire like that thought so highly of it, this food must be INCA-redible)

red, white and black
(No, rainbow quinoa is NOT its own type; rainbow quinoa is a mixture of all three)
