What exactly is Go Dash Dot?
Go Dash Dot is an active wear accessories brand. We launched with our signature style, the Infinity Bag, which has a separate compartment for your shoes or yoga mat, a padded lap top section, machine washable laundry bag, snap in-snap out pouch, water bottle holder, 1 interior zip pocket, and 3 exterior zip pockets. Plus, if you don’t have shoes or a yoga mat, there is an interior zipper that releases the shoe compartment creating a deeper tote. We have recently expanded our line to include a backpack and weekender that have all the same amazing features as the Infinity bag.
What is your mission?
Our mission is to provide products for the adventurous spirit of the modern on the go woman who fearlessly strives to achieve her goals, never gives up, and still manages to have fun along the way. We strive to make on the go living easier and fashionable by providing women with athleisure handbags. We are inspired by the hectic lives of women who seek healthy lifestyles without compromising their careers or personal lives.
Our social mission at Go Dash Dot is to empower women and provide them with the tools necessary to confront life’s challenges from a place of strength; with confidence, dignity, and integrity. With this ideal in mind, we have partnered with women’s cooperatives all over the world whose mission is to support independence and empowerment by providing women with skills and work opportunities. We have also partnered with My Sisters’ Place to help raise funds and awareness for their organization, which works to end violence in intimate relationships and combat the effects of domestic violence and human trafficking.
What inspired you to start Go Dash Dot?
I was living in New York City for about two years after college, dashing from the gym to work to dinner with friends and found myself always carrying at least 3 bags or a legitimate suitcase just to hold all of my stuff for the day. Despite my efforts to find the perfect carry all, I was at a loss. So I starting thinking about what I needed in an everyday bag in addition to conducting a survey of over 100 women ages 23-55 to find out what it is other women wanted in their carry-all. From there I designed our first product, the Infinity bag.
How did you come up with the name of your company?
Naming my company ended up being a 6-month process! After months of trying to think of names, I ended up consulting with a family friend who worked at a branding agency. He suggested thinking about what my brand looked like physically and verbally, profile my target customers, and write about why I started the company, where I see it going, and the emotion I want my products and brand as a whole to invoke in my customers. From all of this writing, thinking, and soul searching, we settled on dash dash dot dash dash dash (a name so different from anything I was coming up with previously), which means GO in Morse code. The name just made sense; these are the bags that let you GO. Also, Morse code is the universal language and that is how we see our bags, universal. Whatever you need them for, they will be there for you. Of course, we have some nicknames- we like Go Dash Dot, but you can call us whatever you would like!
Are your products sold in store?
Yes! We are currently in a few boutiques in Boston and New York, the Free People website, and then we sell direct to customer through our website: www.godashdot.com
Is there a favorite product?
I’m loving the Infinity bag in camo/neon yellow because it is playful yet still matches all my clothes for everyday use. I also love the backpack for when I am running around the city going to meetings, workout classes, and setting up shop on the go. The weekender is also great for overnight trips. I love the laundry bag, shoe compartment, and snap in snap out pouch for makeup and toiletries so I have no excuse but to stay somewhat organized while away. I guess I love them all 🙂
What is the hardest part about running Go Dash Dot?
Staying positive and seeing the success we have had so far. Running a company is an emotional roller coaster. Some days I’m on cloud 9 but mostly I feel like I’m on the downhill swoop! I get so caught up in wanting to be better, bigger, and more successful, I forget to look at what I have achieved both personally and professionally and recognize that I will get there, but it will take time and that is OK!
How do you spread the word about your company?
For direct to consumer sales, social media has been a key tool to growing brand awareness and targeting new customers. For our wholesale business, we have found much success at industry trade shows.
Do you have a favorite quote or go to saying?
My best friend and I always tell each other ‘I can and I will.’ Since going full time with Go Dash Dot, I find myself repeating this mantra very frequently.

Believe in yourself. If you have a dream and the passion, with perseverance you can succeed!
