It’s Halloween. You know what that means:
Great news! You too can eat as much candy as you want, because now, there’s an amazing candy diet!
Don’t you wish that were true? Us too. So much. Sadly it isn’t, and we’re going to go out on a limb and say it could never be. Why? For the most part, candy packs a lot of calories without offering much in the way of nutrition. Low on fiber, complex carbs, protein and healthy fats, that Fun Size treat will just never feel satisfying, and will likely leave you wanting more. That, although your dentist wishes otherwise, is why you could really not lead a healthy lifestyle living on candy.
So what to do tonight? We say that’s totally up to you. Whether you want to have candy for dinner, candy all day, one and done, or none at all, it is solely your choice. You do you, and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise!
BUT…(come on, you knew a but was coming), we think it’s always good to be informed. We hate the idea of “You ate it, now negate it,” because that sounds very binge/purge and thus disordered to us. We do however kind of like the idea of thinking about that Halloween candy in terms of time of the gym. Why? Because again, having the information can only help. Maybe you’ll chose to totally ignore it, or maybe it will be useful later on tonight, when you ask yourself, “Is it really worth it?” Again, in our book, that’s totally up to you.
We scoured Pinterest for a couple of fun but useful charts – Halloween candies versus burpees and the like. Take a look if you’re so inclined (or find your own):
And here’s our expert advice. No matter what, don’t stress. Halloween is supposed to be fun. Don’t ruin it obsessing over whether or not you are having that Reese’s. No matter what you choose to do, make it a great night!
