Can you tell us a little about yourself?
Jewels For Hope is run by Sandy and Stevie – a mother/daughter duo who actually love working together! We both have a passion for jewelry, giving back, and music– so we combined them all and created Jewels For Hope.
How is it working as a mother – daughter duo?
Believe it or not, we love it! We both are so different that we offset each other in the best possible way. I know a lot of people cannot imagine working with their family, but it works for us.
What exactly is Jewels For Hope?
Jewels For Hope is handcrafted gifts that give back; from jewelry to wine stoppers and more!
What inspired you to start Jewels For Hope?
Jewels For Hope was founded when Sandy was a caregiver to her mother. She worked from home while caring for her mom, and shortly after Stevie joined the company after graduating college.
How did you come up with the name?
Honestly, Sandy wanted to name the company “The Family Jewels”… but I put a stop to that, haha. We are all about giving hope, so Jewels For Hope really suits us better.
Where are your products sold? Are they sold in stores?
Our products are mainly sold online, although we are starting to break into wholesale now.
What is your favorite part about running Jewels For Hope?
The freedom to express our creativity.
What is your least favorite part about running Jewels For Hope?
The business end. We are both very creative minds, so sitting down and handling the paperwork is really the hardest part for us.
Is there a favorite product?
We each have our own. My mother, Sandy’s is our “Ironman” Handwoven Pendant, and mine is our new fringe earrings.
Your items give back, can you tell us about that?
Giving back is our way of saying thank you. We started by originally giving back only to Hospice, as they were just amazing in our time of need. Since then, we’ve found so many organizations doing amazing things, we just needed to show our gratitude.
How do you spread the word about your company?
We mainly spread the word through social media as well as any shows we attend.
You have been seen on an array of TV shows, can you tell us about that?
We were lucky enough to be accepted into an elite group for handcrafted artists (The Artisan Group) and through this wonderful organization we have been lucky enough to have our charity creations handpicked to be on TV shows. It is a thrill and we are so honored to have our jewelry selected.
Do you have any advice for fellow entrepreneurs?
Don’t get discouraged and be yourself! There will always be hard times, just keep going. Follow your passion.
