Let me let you into my daily routine:
Roll out of bed
Brush teeth,Drink water,
Eat a light snack/bar,
Get dressed,
Go to Crossfit.
What is Crossfit, you may ask.
“CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide.”

My attendance is either at the 7am or 8am because “the early bird gets the worm.” Everyday we have a different Workout of the Day (WOD). Some days you could be stuck doing 100 pushups for time, or jumping rope or even some thrusters. The thing is, you never go in and do the same workout twice.
The age spectrum at Crossfit boxes is varied. Places offer Crossfit Kids for ages 7 and up. And there really is no age limit to when to stop. Just check out Jacinto Bonilla who is 74! Injured? Not a problem! There is always modifications that can be implemented.
I started Crossfit in the Fall of 2014, back then, I could barely clean 30lbs. I have seen so much self-progress since then. In the video, the reps were 65 lbs Rx for women, I worked at 55lbs. My motivation? My Mom. She’s been into crossfit for five years now. Yes, she can squat, clean and deadlift WAY more than I can. But hey, I’m almost there!
Since the Fall, I have seen my confidence go through the roof! I feel like I have fulfilled and progressed so much! My advice to you is to not get discouraged. In fact I encourage you to give Crossfit a try. I agree it does ‘look hard,‘ but don’t judge a book by its cover! If you need more motivation, check out the video from Crossfit Kismet! I would also like to give a special thanks to Kari, Elyssa and Celina back at Ft. Myers as well as Chris and Ray here in Boca Raton.
Thank you for sharing this. I have been considering joining the crossfit group here on base. I am hoping that the extra weight training will help me shed this baby weight. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Thanks!
Your mom is an inspiration to work so hard at her age! I’m not quite ready for that in my fitness journey, but I hope to be some day soon!
