A lot of girls come into college with a mindset that they just want to have fun.
They may have been settled down in high school, or they may simple want to just let loose in college. And that’s okay. Everyone is entitled to have fun, and everyone should celebrate themselves the way they want to.
And then there are the girls who come into college with a boyfriend (me, hi!). And while for me, fun doesn’t necessarily mean dancing on top of tables and ending the night with a guy, I still like to enjoy myself with friends and go out.
So why is it that some of us women feel the need to bring each other down for one reason or another? It’s almost become a lose-lose situation. If you don’t have a boyfriend, people can label you as promiscuous, wild, disrespectful, and cheap. If you do have a boyfriend, you’ll often be called a grandma, boring, or buzzkill.
We girls need to bring each other up, not bring each other down. We need to realize relationship choices are a personal subject, and no one is entitled to judge. And more than anything, we just need to enjoy each other’s company without looking too far into it.
With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, there is no better time to start than right now! Use the day to celebrate any kind of love – be it a romantic relationship, or just celebrating the awesome friends and family that you have in your life. There are no limits when it comes to love! Cheers to us all!
