For me, I am consistently running around whether it’s my Monday morning chemistry class, or heading over to a friend’s place before a night out. I’ve realized in order to feel the most confident about myself I need to fuel my body with nutrient dense foods to hold me over between meals and to keep myself from enjoying the whole chip basket at my favorite Mexican restaurant. The list below is filled with easy snacks that are perfect for on the go and require little to no prep!
1. Plain, Nonfat Greek Yogurt topped with your favorite whole grain cereal
Besides containing essential nutrients such as protein, zinc, calcium, and vitamins B6 greek yogurt is a perfect after workout snack(it’s filled with amino acids) that will help rejuvenate muscle tissue, and will hold you over to your next meal! I pair mine with a table spoon of Kashi’s Go Lean Crisp Toasted Berry Crumble Cereal for a little extra sweetness!
2. Steamed Cauliflower
This has to be one of my all time favorite snacks! Most vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, and green beans are available frozen! These vegetables can be steamed in the microwave in 5 minutes or less! I always sprinkle mine with tons of seasonings and throw it in a Tupperware container for on the go
I always try to keep one of these in my bag you never know when hunger will strike! These bars are high in fiber and protein with allow amount of calories! They keep me filled and my energy up!
4. Hard Boiled Egg
Packed with protein and vitamin D this super low calorie snack are even available in some grocery stores in packages of two so there easy to grab when running out the door!
5. Avocado
Delicious and packed with healthy fats! I enjoy mine sprinkled with sea salt and pepper. They are the perfect mid-day and have so many benefits linked to overall wellness
6. Carrots and Hummus
This simple snack provides packed essential nutrients along with protein! Bonus carrots are filled with antioxidants giving your skin that perfect glow!
Even though they may be small don’t underestimate all the heart healthy benefits these guys contain!
8. Banana with Peanut Butter
The carbs will give you an energy burst while the protein packed in the peanut butter will keep you going!
Oats are great for anytime during the day and are filled with fiber so they’ll keep your blood sugar from crashing!
10. Sliced Turkey
I roll up sliced turkey with hummus and vegetables with no bun for a low calorie tasty snack!
